iPlotz: wireframing, mockups, and prototyping for web sites and applications

A colleague recently sent me a link for a wireframing web application called iPlotz. It appears to be a flex application in beta, and if I’m not mistaken perhaps using a variation of the Edding Black or Flekscribble themes featured on ScaleNine. Only started playing around with it, but it looks like it has potential as an online collaboration tool. Check it out for yourself at iplotz.com.

Truly deleting images from Adobe Lightroom

Adobe Lightroom 2Hitting the ‘delete’ key in Adobe Bridge and Lightroom used to bring up a dialog offering options like whether I wanted to remove the image from the collection or permanently delete the image from my hard drive. Since upgrading to Lightroom 2 I no longer get this dialogue, and I couldn’t find a setting in the preferences to make it come up. After a bit of searching on the web I found this page that says “To remove a photo from a collection as well as from the catalog, select the photo and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift+Delete (Mac OS).” Now to me, removing from a collection and dumping something in the trash are two totally different things, yet when I used this shortcut it did give me a prompt offering to move the image to the trash.

So there you have it, if you want to actually delete an image from your drive from Lightroom, you need to use the above key combination.

Mercedes Benz USA Flex 3 Site Launched

It’s an ecstatic day for us here at Anaara Media as mbusa.com went live this morning. It has been a tremendous effort for our team, the in-house team at Mercedes in New Jersey, and also Yakov Fain and Valerie Silaev over at Farata Systems in Russia. We had been working around the clock on this project since January. The presentation tier is Flex 3 using the Cairngorm framework, on the back end they have a robust CMS talking with Java, and in between it all is Adobe LiveCycle Data Services.

It was great to finally see our efforts on this project go live, but things are only ramping up here as we begin work on an iPhone application for a major telecom and we are also wrapping up on a DOD e-Learning project done in Flash with four million end users…

In short, the RIA space is still in the supernova phase.
